Main Turkish stock ends lower on Tuesday

(MENAFN) The main Turkish stock index finished Tuesday at 10,487.25 points, marking a 0.52% decline compared to the previous day. Starting the session at 10,555.20, the BIST 100 index dropped by 54.84 points from Monday’s close. During the trading day, the index hit a low of 10,487.25 and reached a peak of 10,589.61. Out of the total indexes tracked, 67 saw a decrease in value, while 31 recorded gains.

Trading volume for the day amounted to 85.8 billion Turkish liras, approximately $2.11 billion, with the total market capitalization reaching 9.7 trillion liras, equivalent to around $239.6 billion. As of 6:20 pm local time (1520 GMT), the exchange rates were 40.5345 for USD/TRY, 46.8320 for EUR/TRY, and 54.1730 for GBP/TRY. Gold was priced at $3,328.35 per ounce, and Brent crude oil stood at $70.15 per barrel.
