Huawei Leads Key Cloud Technology Event in Egypt
(MENAFN) Over 600 government officials, business executives, and ecosystem collaborators from more than 10 countries gathered in Cairo to discuss the future of digital transformation in North Africa at a cloud technology conference hosted by Chinese tech giant Huawei.
Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar emphasized the growing trend of data being stored within Egypt’s borders, describing it as not only a strategic technological decision but also a crucial measure for ensuring data security.
Also serving as Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population, Abdel-Ghaffar highlighted the transformative potential of digital technology for the healthcare sector, stating, "as we embrace digital transformation, the healthcare industry will benefit greatly."
He further emphasized the pivotal role of cloud computing in advancing healthcare by enabling the secure handling of patient information, fostering cutting-edge medical research, and enhancing the quality of healthcare services.
Shi Jilin, president of Huawei Cloud’s global marketing and sales service, described the ongoing global AI technological revolution as a unique opportunity for North Africa to achieve rapid technological progress.
She underscored Huawei Cloud’s commitment to helping North African nations establish a robust intelligent cloud infrastructure and speed up industrial digital upgrades.
Huawei Cloud inaugurated its Cairo Region in May 2024, offering cloud services tailored to North African countries.
Feng Qiyou, president of Huawei Cloud Northern Africa, informed media that more than 300 clients have already launched operations on Huawei’s public cloud platform, spanning sectors such as fintech, e-commerce, and retail.
